Give supervisors the people-skills to lead

Build a succession pipeline

The Founder's Validation

Hindbo

"The investment is real, the format fits a working team, and the results show up in the field. I could see it in my guys by the end. We're a better company because of this. "

-  Jordan Hindbo, Founder, World Class Contracting

The PeopleWork Supervisor Academy's micro-learning approach delivered development without disrupting operations. WCC supervisors experienced the benefits of continuous learning while keeping Central Alberta's busiest job sites moving.

World Class Contracting is a mechanical contracting company based in Red Deer, Alberta. Founded in 1999, WCC specializes in plumbing, gas fitting, hot water heating, pipefitting, and complete sub-trade management across commercial, municipal, institutional, healthcare, education, and multi-family residential facilities.

The name World Class isn't a marketing slogan. Founder Jordan Hindbo chose it after representing Canada in the 1999 WorldSkills Competition. The mandate has been the same ever since: perform at a world-class level on every project, from start to finish.

Three-time winner of the RDCA Subcontractor of the Year Award. COR-certified safety program.

That standard doesn't stop at the work. It applies to the people leading it.

World Class Contracting put two cohorts of 15 supervisors through the PeopleWork Supervisor Academy, veterans alongside young tradespeople, without pulling a single person off an active job site.

What WCC Senior Management noticed:

  • Significant reduction in escalation calls — supervisors resolving issues at the source.

  • Measurable increase in confidence and engagement across both cohorts.

  • Young supervisors more prepared and communicative in weekly team meetings.

  • Succession pipeline strengthened for the next generation of WCC leadership.

What the Office Manager noticed:

"They seem more confident and more prepared when they're emailing with requests and questions. There's a definite increase in confidence." — Lynnette Taylor, Office Manager, World Class Contracting

From Good Leaders to a Better Class of Leaders

The transformation WCC achieved:

From escalating to solving — supervisors handling problems at the source.

From reacting to reflecting — asking better questions before pointing fingers.

From compliance to ownership — supervisors who act like the company is theirs.

From good leaders to a better class of leaders — because the name on the door demands it.

The Culture Question

Jordan Hindbo had spent years trying to build a culture where people coach instead of bark, wear their gear with pride, and feel like the company is theirs. The Academy did the same thing, just faster.

"It gives me a way to express what I believe about leadership to my people without me having to be the one saying it every time. It's like having kids, sometimes they won't listen to you, but you put them in a course and all of a sudden the teacher says, 'You've got such a great kid.' And you think, yeah, I knew that."
